Our quilting group meets every Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. – Noon. Our group started in 1996 with about 20 people. We began by giving our quilts to the homeless and those in need. Since 1996 we have made 4,700 quilts; the record amount made in one day is 8 quilts. We work from September and finish in June. God has been very good to us, and all of our fabric and yarn have been donated to us by several businesses, individual donors and churches. We invite others to join us, whether you sew or not.
Every Tuesday evening at 6:00 P.M. we have a yoga class in the fellowship hall. The class is gentle Hatha yoga, which is accessible to beginners, and is open to all.
We have a fellowship supper on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 P.M., from soup suppers for Lent to first Sunday potlucks. These are times of good food, and good fellowship. After supper, we host a variety of programs, from movie nights to speakers on immigration policy. In December, we follow Wednesday night supper with Advent Devotions.
Our book club meets on the fourth Saturday of the month at 10:00 A.M. in the Intermission room. The book club is a chance to meet members and enjoy reading and discussing a good book. The books we’ve read have included The Invisible Thread (inspirational), Death by Darjeeling (a mystery), I Still Dream About You (fiction) and The Senator Next Store (non-fiction).
Peace Presbyterian shares our space with a new worshiping community called Intermission. They put on a weekly free community meal on Fridays at 5:00 P.M., followed by their weekly gathering. Learn more about Intermission.
